Severino “German” “Rino” Oyamot of Makaweli died April 22, 2007, at Queen’s Hospital on O‘ahu at the age of 76.
Born Nov. 19, 1930, in Makaweli, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Gay & Robinson Sugar Plantation. He also served in the Hawai‘i Army National Guard.
Preceded in death by parents Florentino and Josepha Oyamot, brothers Pedro, Larry and Alberto “Happy” Oyamot, he is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughters Rowena (Calvin) Fukushima, Wenda Ann Oyamot, sons Rodney (Josie Rasay) Oyamot, Mansfield (Noreen) Oyamot, Malcolm (Helena) Oyamot, Jonathan (Marietta) Oyamot; brothers Dilikano “Dick” and Marcelo “Marcie” Oyamot of O‘ahu, Luciano “Lucky” Oyamot of Makaweli; sister Gregoria “Gloria” Albarado of Makaweli; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at Sacred Hearts Church in Waimea. Mass to follow.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests casual attire.
