Kaua‘i Open registration starts today

May 31 is the deadline for all coaches wishing to register a 12U or 14U boys basketball team for the 3rd Annual Kaua‘i Open Invitational Tournament.

The tournament, hosted by The Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i in conjunction with the ZZ Youth Basketball Program, will take place at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on June 21, 22, and 23.

Jeff Venzon, one of the leaders for the ZZ Youth Basketball program, said the tournament will allow a co-ed team and will also entertain an all-girls team to compete against the boys’ teams.

Venzon said an all-girls tournament will be formed only if there are a minimum of four teams for each age division that will enter the league by May 15.

Age determination for all participating players is Dec. 31, 2006.
