Hats off to Greg Gonsalves and the Kapa‘a High athletic department for doing such a good job with the tennis qualifying matches. When states is on another island, this is as close as we get to that excitement. Chaz Okamoto

Chaz Okamoto got to watch sister Kelli play. He recently got some honors at the state Industrial Arts fair for Kapa‘a Middle School and is already anticipating the robotics competition; coach Jonathan Tom always has a woodworking project and this year, he was working on a giant fish trophy … actually, he said it doubles as a massager. Only problem is he forgot it on day two so had to be content munching on Wheat Thins.
Calvin Paleka had his long day Thursday, getting to the track meet following a day at Kiahuna, and Sam Henriques spent a couple of hours at the Waimea Library before tending to the girls at the Clem Gomes Friday … Reggie McCabe discovered the way to beat the Lihu‘e traffic (one hour to get to Puhi!) is to use the Kipu by-pass.
Great job to Ron Wiley, Andy Melamed and all the crew at KQNG radio group on another great Secretary’s Day event! You know it’s exciting when Arlene Yoshimori signs up to work the event … she even got a hug from Augie T.
OK, ‘nuff said…it’s off to the UH Spring Concert!
