Rosalia Pagtulingan
Rosalia “Sally” Pagtulingan of Lihu‘e died in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 5, 2007, at the age of 73.
Born in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on Oct. 7, 1933, she was retired as owner of Kauai Gifts, Kauai Snacks and Sally’s Jewels.
She is survived by daughters Lily (Carlos) Giron of Las Vegas, Ruby (Doug) McMurren of Alaska and Arlene Reis of Honolulu; brothers Santiago Cadaoas, and Dennis Mabini; sisters Evelyn Johnston and Florencia Pascua; grandchildren Desiree, Christopher, Dustin, Alexandra, Andrew; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 27, at Holy Cross Church with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Pagtulingan family with arrangements.
Loka Kaohelaulii
Loka Kenemaka Kumuwaina Kaohelaulii of Kekaha, died April 17, 2007, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 68.
She was born in Pu‘uwai, Ni‘ihau, on March 30, 1939.
She is survived by sons Marcelo (Debbie) Bustillos of Wailuku, Maui, Sam (Lotu) Bustillos of Kekaha, Joe (Michelle) Bustillos of Paia, Maui and Lambert (Brenda) Kaohelaulii of Kahului, Maui; daughters Joann (Robert Sr.) Figaroa of Anahola, Connie (Kaimana) Castaneda of Kekaha, Hualani (Dave) Duncan of Hanapepe, Grace (Harry) Kala of Lihu‘e, and Ruth Kaohelaulii of Kekaha; 24 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren; brother Ho‘okipa Kanahele of Makaweli; sisters Mileka Kanahele of Nanakuli, O‘ahu, and Pua Crawford, both of Nanakuli, O‘ahu.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel where services will begin at 3 p.m.
Burial will be at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Wilma C. Meyer
Wilma C. Meyer of Anahola, died April 19, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 67.
Born on Kaua‘i, she was a housekeeper.
Preceded in death by son Stanley W. Farias and sister Luana C. Young, she is survived by her husband, Arthur K. Meyer; sons Darrell (Dory) Farias, Frederick (Rowena) Farias, Anthony “Dinx” (Stacy) Farias and Glenn W. Kaleleiki; daughters Virginia “Ginny” (Moses “Moki” Fernandez) Farias and Wilma M.C. “Mala” (Lori M. Tamayose) Meyer; brothers Willie Carrillo and Fred “Raffy” Carrillo; 11 grandchilden and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Anahola Ko‘olau Hui‘ia Protestant Church, where services will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Jack Morgan Martin
Jack Morgan Martin of Waimea died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on April 23, 2007, at the age of 88.
Born Jan. 30, 1919, in Jacksonvile, Ark., he was a business owner and court reporter with Clark, Snyder and Martin, C.S.R.
He is survived by daughters Sharon Helton of Colorado Springs, Calif., Donna (Steve) Gallegos of Del Norte, Co., Angela (Kim) Headley of Hanapepe and Lori Martin of Hanapepe; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. Arrangements will be handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Albert Fujio Teraoka
Albert Fujio Teraoka of Wailua Houselots died April 14, 2007, at his home at the age of 82.
Born on Kaua‘i, he worked in accounting.
He is survived by his wife Helen Teraoka of Wailua; sons Dayn (Lisa) Teraoka of Kapa‘a and Jason (Tracy) Teraoka of Honolulu; daughters Joni Inoshita of Honolulu and Vicky (Joel) Choo of Honolulu; granddaughters Kirsten and Kerri Inoshita and Kelsey and Shelby Choo; sister-in-law Emiko Teraoka of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
