Sara Elizabeth Abraham and Kevan Polani Kamibaya-shi have recently announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Elizabeth Abraham of Charleston, West Va., and the late William D. Abraham.
The prospective groom is the son of Robin and Erna Kamibayashi of Koloa.
The bride-elect received her Bachelor’s degree in 2004 from Oberlin College, majoring in archaeological studies, anthropology and geology, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in information studies at Florida State University. Formerly of Charleston, Sara resides in Volcano, Hawai‘i, and is employed by the Center for the Study of Active Volcanoes (CSAV), where she works as a seismic data analyst assistant at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
The future groom received a Bachelor’s degree in 2004 from the University of Hawai‘i at Hill, majoring in Geology. Kevan is also a resident of Volcano and is employed as a geodetics t echnician for the U.S. Geological Survey at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
The couple will be united in marriage during an outdoor ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Kauai on June 30.
