Les Tamashiro had the right idea — have a Jojo’s Anuenue while waiting for daughter’s volleyball practice. Actually, Jojo’s Anuenue was good after the baseball game, too. Next time, maybe there will be time for a hot dog as well.

Kapa‘a was on a roll this week, winning girls basketball (Bev Pang made it, and even had a green shirt on) against a tough Waimea team Tuesday … Jocelyn Enrique was taking in the game with Hanalei Gomes and Leilani Laranio Wednesday, and coach Destry Carvalho and his staff pulled off a 4-2 win over Waimea in Menehuneland.

Jon Kobayashi was enjoying the game with basketball coaches Elton Montemayor and Brandon Moises before practice, and since Ben Agu just missed the Jojo’s Anuenue closing, had to settle for Pepsi at Bucky’s Liquor before practice.

Meanwhile, tennis coach Paulette Lum was working her troops for the big match against Kapa‘a that starts at noon at the Kiahuna Tennis Courts.

Paulette said whomever wins, wins, and whomever loses, loses (for the boys). It’s a big showdown for Kapa‘a and Waimea!

Allan said the whole thing couldn’t have happened without the cooperation of many people including Dewayne Kong, Stephen Girald, Harvey Kinoshita and more … the energy bars from Anita Kaneakua sure hit the spot while waiting.
