Thanks to coach Paulette Lum for noticing that we play tennis at Kiahuna this Saturday.
Hats off to Darryl Izumo and his family for hosting another great bowling tournament … ever had a lu‘au in the bowling alley? Darryl did it Sunday night to kick off the PBA West/Northwest Region Rice Shopping Center Open.
Sunday was also a nice day to spend out north as Don McConnell and his Northshore Lions pulled out all the stops for another successful “hula and pancakes” event. Pancake chef Gary Pacheco and Wayne Tanji have the routine down to where Gary even knows when to make the “special” hotcakes.
Bill Troutman is a Northshore Lion and that was the perfect time to catch up with daughter Caroline.
Of course, coach Mits Yokotake didn’t know what time the hula halau was going to go on, so if you were a late-riser, it was all over. Coach Mits was at the Friday night basketball game.
A lot of other Lions like Hans Hellriegel and Steven Fujii went over the bridge to have some of the Northshore pancakes, too. Hans said they were so busy at the Grove Farm Homesteads Museum train, they never had time for lunch, Saturday. But he said he’ll be in a lot of photographs.
And if Sharron Weber is there, you know it’s an event … she caught a ride with Diane Kent for breakfast and golf afterwards.
OK, it’s off to Menehuneland for baseball, again … maybe this time we’ll have time for some KPAL wrestling, too.
