POIPU — The Japanese restaurant, Naniwa at Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort, has introduced a new Japanese Buffet offered every Saturday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. beginning this Saturday.
Chefs Shoji Namatame and Eddie Mizuno have prepared a flavorful menu consisting of cold food items like Yokohama chicken salad, seaweed salad with mustard miso sauce, ahi Nuta style, fresh ahi and kajiki sashimi, seafood on ice, chilled tofu with traditional condiments and soy beans.
Irresistible hot food items include Nishime (dashi broth simmered vegetables), Shiromi Ankake (deep-fried white fish with ginger sauce), Kiriboshi Daikon (Dashi broth simmered dried shredded daikon), teriyaki chicken and unagi donburi (fresh water eel on steamed white rice).
Action stations will offer traditional tempura with dipping sauce, nigiri sushi and maki sushi with pickled ginger, wasabi and shoyu sauce, Nagashi somen and roast beef Hokkaido-style served with Japanese jus.
All items will be prepared with island fresh seafood and specialties air shipped daily from Japan.
The new weekly buffet offers an authentic Japanese dining experience near Poipu Beach.
