Rodrigues takes front rotation against Fresno
Koloa’s Mark Rodrigues, who had been the second-game starter for the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball team, moves up to the front rotation in the three-game series against Fresno State.
Rodrigues holds a record of 6-2 and a 3.05 ERA in 62.0 innings, striking out 27 with only five walks, one complete game and one combined shutout.
The Bulldogs are tied atop the conference standings with Louisiana Tech at 6-3, a game ahead of the Hawai‘i. Hawai‘i and Fresno State were the pre-season picks to win the conference.
Hawai‘i fell in their midweek game at Pacific, as the Tigers came back in the bottom of the eighth to earn the 4-3 victory. They are now 2-2 thus far on the current road trip.
Don Robbs of Sports Radio 1420 AM will broadcast all the baseball games live.
