KALAHEO — Laukona kept its undefeated streak alive with a 49-25 win over Team Central Wednesday night.
Led by Paleku Yasay who netted a game-high 16 points, Laukona is the only team in the county’s 14 and Under league to tout an undefeated record.
Kahale Fagarang and Jason Iloreta helped out the win with 9 points each.
Keane Agoot took the lead for Central with a 10-point showing in the effort. Manas Kshirsagar added 8 points and Duke Pauli finished with 3 points.
Earlier in the evening, Wailua was a 33-30 winner over Island Athletics.
Bradley Coloma and Jordan Cummings shared score leading honors for Wailua with each player netting 8 points. Mark Hatchell and Jude Cruz followed with 5 points each.
Todd Hirano finished with a game-high dozen points to lead the Athletics’ scoring effort. Brandon Taylor added 7 marks and Jay Louis finished with 6 points.
Just one game remains in the county’s 14 and Under boys basketball season as teams square off for the final time Monday starting at 6 p.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Summer hoops registration going on
Registration for the 3 G’s Summer League are currently being accepted.
Teams in the 11 and Under division will be starting play in May.
All interested basketball coaches from around the island are invited to get more details for the new competitive youth summer basketball program, said 3 G’s commissioner Cecil Gee.
In addition to the 11 and Under division, the league will be hosting programs for the 13 and Under, 15 and Under and the 18 and Under divisions.
A coaches meeting for the new league will take place April 11 at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center starting at 7 p.m.
