Women’s soccer to meet at the Homesteads

WAILUA HOMESTEADS — The women’s soccer league announced it will meet at the park at Wailua Homesteads this Saturday at 12:30.

This is a change just for this week. The group usually meets at the park at Wailua Houselots. Women aged 18 years old and up are welcome.

This is a young group with hopes to grow into an official league. They mostly play pickup games for now, until they get enough women.

AYSO Region 940

holds registration

The American Youth Soccer Organization Region 940 is holding registration for Waimea, Hanapepe, Kalaheo, Koloa and Lihu‘e players for the fall season. Children range in age from 4 1/2 years old to young adults under 19 years old.

Interested athletes can register online at www.aysokauai.org.

In-person registration will be held at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center on April 27 and May 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and April 28 and May 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The price per child is $50, but there are multi-family discounts and special pricing for Under 16 and Under 19 lea-guers.

Registration will also be held June 9 at the Waimea Neighborhood Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The price per child will then be $60. The multi-family discounts and special pricing for U16 and U19 may be available.

Opening day for the league is Aug. 18.
