Eugenio Jimenez of Lihu‘e died March 25, 2007, at his home at the age of 87.
Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Kapa‘ia, he retired as a highway construction inspector with the State of Hawai‘i, Department of Transportation. He was a devoted husband, father, avid hunter, gun and knife collector, re-loader, fisherman, and he loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife Pacita A. Jimenez of Lihu‘e; sons Eugene (Lorraine) Jimenez of ‘Oma‘o, Ryan (Regina) Jimenez of Wailua Homesteads, Mark (Paula) Jimenez of Hanapepe and daughter Rowena (Kurt) Tachibana of Hanama‘ulu; brothers Bernardo Jimenez of Honolulu, Pedro Jimenez II of O‘ahu, Roberto (Hideko) Jimenez of Hawai‘i Kai, and sister Eileen P. Wright of Kalaheo; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, March 31, at Lihu‘e Christian Church from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a celebration of his life to follow. The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests aloha attire.
