Monica Isnec
Monica Isnec of Lihu‘e, died March 19, 2007, at Straub Hospital at the age of 78.
Born May 4, 1938, in the Philippines, she was a dietary clerk at Wilcox Hospital.
She is survived by sons: Emmanuel Isnec of Lihu‘e; and Edgar Isnec of California. She is survived by daughters: Eileen Villatora of Nevada; Estrellita (Bert) Saiki of ‘Ele‘ele; Emeline (Glenn) Aqui of Lawa‘i; and Evangeline (Peter) Hesapene of Lihu‘e. She is also survived by brother Tadeo Tabalba, and sisters Andrea Castro and Juliana Domingo; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where services will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m.
Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Mary “Maria” Rodrigues of Koloa died at home on March 6, 2007, at the age of 92.
Born on Kaua‘i on May 2, 1914, she retired as a housekeeper with Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by sons: Benjamin (Juanita) Callejo Sr. of ‘Ele‘ele; John (Violet) Taboniar of Kekaha; Joseph (Julie) Taboniar Sr. of McBryde. She is survived by daughters: Ruby (Daniel) Rivera of McBryde; Betsy (Edwin) Shinagawa of Kalaheo; Joanna Castillo of Waimea; Julita (Fred) Patricio of Kekaha; Rosalina (Vincent) Sonoda of Koloa; daughter-in-law Gloria Callejo of McBryde; brother Thomas (Maryann) Rodrigues Sr. of ‘Ele‘ele; 45 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by son Herbert Callejo Sr., and son-in-law William Castillo Sr.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 31, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihu‘e with visitation from 10:30 a.m. and services beginning at noon.
Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Kan Yin Chang
Kan Yin Chang of Kapaa died on March 24, 2007, at the age of 73. Born in Lihue, Kauai on Sept. 21, 1933, he retired from Garden Island Motors (Mid Pad Auto) as a sales representative in the auto parts department.
He is survived by his wife Doris Chang; sons, Clyde (Vanessa) Chang, Frederick (Bea) Chang, Patrick Chang, Robert (Kim) Rumion; daughters, Darlene (Mike) Hatakeyama, Sharlene Rumion, Michelle Colley; siblings, Esther Pang, Bessie (Dan) Pang, Kan Chong (Beverly) Chang, Kim Moi Chang, Yuki (Hiroki) Hashimura, Kan Kim (Patsy) Chang, Kim Look Chang; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by siblings Robert Chang, Mary Andrews, Kan Yau Chang, Kan Hing Chang.
Services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and service celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
