Alfred James Ferreira

Alfred James Ferreira of Kalaheo died at his home on March 15, 2007, at the age of 72.

Born on April 15, 1934, he retired from the Sheraton Kauai Hotel.

“Freddie,” as he was affectionately known, is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen Martin Ferreira; children Sharon (Clifton) Hashimoto, Gayle (Alan) Konishi and Eliott (Jeannine) Ferreira, grandchildren Christopher, Ryan and Ross Konishi. He is also survived by his mother, Julia Ferreira; and brothers Wallace (Carol) Ferreira and Robert (Marieanne) Ferreira. He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Ferreira.

Friends my visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at Holy Cross Church where Mass will be celebrated by Father Nap at noon. A private burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.


Robert Charles Medeiros Sr.

Robert Charles Medeiros Sr. of Kalaheo, died March 18, 2007, at Heritage Hale Kupuna Care Home at the age of 72.

Born July 4, 1934, in Koloa, he was a tour guide for Robert’s Hawaii Tours.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Medeiros of Kalaheo; daughters Sylvia (Harold) Mariani of Hanapepe and Sherri (Joey) Silva of Kalaheo; sons Robert (Mai) Medeiros of Hanapepe and Glenn (Tammy) Medeiros of Honolulu; brother Richard (Marlene) Medeiros of California; sisters Madeline (Albert) Gomes of California and MaryAnn (John) Frias of Honolulu.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at Holy Cross Church, where a funeral Mass will be said at 2 p.m.

Burial will be at Kaua‘i Veterans’ Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
