PRINCEVILLE — The Oklahoma Christian Eagles shot an 11-under par as a whole for 853, capturing the 8th annual Collegiate Cup at the Princeville Makai Lakes golf course yesterday.
The Eagles, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics top-ranked team, entered the Kauai Collegiate Cup for the first time, and held a 14-stroke lead over second-place finishers Ohio University.
Ohio University finished 3-over par at 867.
British Columbia finished third with 20-over par at 884.
While Oklahoma Christian took the overall team title, it was Eastern Illinois’s Anthony Imburgia who shot the best overall.
Imburgia held up for the team and recovered from the second place finish from Rounds 1 and 2 on Friday, when he trailed Oklahoma Christian’ Rhein Gibson.
Imburgia led the team with an 8-under par. Gibson and teammate Fernando Gonzales shot 5-under.
Host school Western Kentucky’s Matt Fuqua came on top for the individuals with a 2 over par.
Other individuals, Eastern Illinois’ Matt Bird shot 11-over, teammate Ty Comerford and North Dakota States Joe Schornack shot 12-over.
