• “The Scale of Retail” will be the topic of the Lihu‘e Business Association’s next free Breakfast Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Duke’s Canoe Club in Nawiliwili.
Representatives from Lihu‘e retailers of a wide range of sizes and backgrounds and with different but overlapping products and markets, will discuss their experiences of being in business on Kaua‘i.
They will present answers to questions such as:
• What are the shared practices and challenges of running a retail business on Kaua‘i? What are the major differences?
• How does being in the Lihu‘e district affect operations?
Moderator Wade Lord, member of the Lihu‘e Business Association’s Board of Directors and vice president of CB Richard Ellis Hawaii, Inc., which manages Kukui Grove Center, will meet with panelists from retail operations at small, medium and large businesses to focus on the topic: “The Scale of Retail.” Panelists include: Janie Whitehead, Manager, Wal-Mart; Debbie Chuckas, Manager, Macy’s; Derek Kawakami, Big Save Inc.; and Marc Imamura, owner, My e, Cellular.
Refreshments provided courtesy of Duke’s Canoe Club Barefoot Bar & Restaurant. The Lihue Business Association has evolved from an informal, group-sponsored, speakers series on topic issues to an organization that is committed to transforming Lihu‘e into the sustainable, prosperous and vital Heart of Kaua‘i.
