PRINCEVILLE — Jan Bernard’s latest buying trip to the Mainland to restock her clothing collection for Reflections Boutique was so successful that she returned to Kaua‘i with nearly 250 pounds of merchandise. Combined with the five trunks of European fashions that her Parisian partner Nadine Caseris brought to Kaua’i, there will be more than 800 pieces of clothing for Kaua‘i women for sale at wholesale prices at the “Pot of Gold” fashion open house.
Designed sort of like a clothing open house, women can sort through one-of-a-kind fashions displayed on multiple racks during the “Pot of Gold” event, try them on, model them for friends, then decide if they’d like to purchase them.
“I feel like I discovered a pot of gold and I get to share it with the ladies of Kaua‘i,” Bernard said. “Caseris arrived on Kaua‘i with the current winter collection as well as summer clothing that will be perfect for Kaua‘i,” Bernard said.
French, Italian, Chinese-made clothing as well as island fashions will be available, and run the gamut from playful, casual looks to formal evening gowns.
Upon learning that the average American woman is now a size 14, Bernard said she and Caseris decided to specialize in elegant designs for larger women, though they also have things for women of every size.
“I bought many beautiful things ranging from size 2 to 22 and sizes small, medium, large, extra large, 0-X, 1-X, 2-X, and 3-X,” Bernard said.
