“Smoke breaking” in the rain has its merits — Arnold Leong (he has a Joe Cool dog, too) came cruising by, and had enough time to chat. Seems like Ed Case came visiting and even had time for a sail with Louis Abrams … the question is: was he part of the Wild Bill Memorial Series?
Hats off to Kapa‘a baseball coach Destry Iseri-Carvalho (I’m using Greg Gonsalves’ term) on that big win Saturday in Waimea. Coach Destry was watching the KSA High Maintenance/Kapa‘a Blaze soccer game Sunday and is anticipating the arrival of the Red Raiders Saturday at the Ron Martin field. The first game should be starting at 10 a.m.
Dr. Michael Oride had a busy weekend with his family — all on the golf course! He got to golf ahead of the KIF golfers at Po‘ipu, and then, before the sun came up Sunday, was on the cart at Wailua for the public links fund-raiser which will help Casey Watabu get to the Masters.
Coach Brandon Fujita said he has a built-in alarm so couldn’t miss that event, and hats off to Art Fujita for organizing such a great event!
Cory Oride and Levi Miyashiro did a great job for the Kaua‘i High School golfers Saturday and were out practicing for this weekend after all the golfers left for the shotgun start. They have a fund-raising tournament coming up April 1 and applications can be found at almost all the golf courses as well as at Tip Top Cafe and the Pro Am shop at the Rice Shopping Center.
OK, ‘nuff said … gotta go check out coach Hank Ibia and the debut of the Red Raiders at Vidinha Stadium … 2:45 p.m.
