Cory Nakamura and Nathan Aiwohi had their families with them for a Genki Sushi dinner Friday night … Cory just took over as principal at Hanalei School (who missed “Lehua in Wonderland?”) and was impressed with the reaction from his staff when Jeff Prostor, Ken Becker and Erin Shaw arrived with the Holomua wishes. Nathan, on the other hand, is now at Kapa‘a Middle School with Da Marys, so if you’re in the neighborhood, pay them a visit.
Debbie Lindsey said Erin is a local girl from Kalaheo who graduated from Island School and is now with that generous company that is granting teachers’ wishes.
Ron Badua was out getting photos of his shop kids playing Waimea baseball at Saturday’s KIF opener in Waimea … if the grandstand entrance wasn’t plugged up, would’ve dropped in to say ‘hi’ to Glenn Mickens, Anahola Joel Pahukula and Ms. Joyce Evens who was doing a marvelous job as the Voice of the Menehune.
But the real action was outside where Gary Mackler (now we know it’s baseball) was enjoying the game, Kim Frasco was doing the food booth thing (what was that dessert stuff?), and even Hoikaika volleyball coach Chad Delanoza was able to enjoy the game during a break in the volleyball action.
Lt. Larry Manuel (oops, he’s retired) was enjoying his retirement while Officer Darla had to come check on the baseball regulars.
OK, ‘nuff said … it’s off to visit Brudda Branch Harmony at the Koloa Farmers’ Market … love that Keya Keita for sending me down there.
