Lactaotao’s hat trick gives GIFC-Po‘okela weekend split

Jessica Lactaotao scored in the final minute of play Sunday, weaving in from the right side to beat out the KSC goalkeeper.

That late-game goal was the only goal scored by GIFC-Po‘okela in the second half of their game against KSC in the Girls Under 14 division of the Kaua‘i Soccer Association games at the North Vidinha fields.

The goal capped a 4-0 victory with Lactaotao finishing with a hat trick. Lori Ann Tamayo accounted for the 3-0 halftime lead for Po‘okela.

KSC had three golden opportunities to score, but the quick-moving Po‘okela stifled the shot-on-goal attempts as well as stopping the breakaways.

Sunday’s results give both GIFC-Po‘okela and KSC splits in the weekend as GIFC-Po‘okela suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Kulia Lanakila in Saturday play.

KSC, on the other hand, took a 1-0 edge over Onipa‘a in Saturday play.
