The preliminary hearing for a man charged with first-degree arson was heard in Judge Trudy Senda’s district courtroom yesterday.
Senda found there was enough probable cause to proceed in Circuit Court with the felony charge against Garret Alisna, 29, of Kapa‘a.
Alisna allegedly destroyed a home on Apopo Road by starting a fire that began Feb. 17, causing roughly $560,000-worth of damage. Alisna was arrested and charged four days later.
Witnesses to the fire said it originated in a backside bedroom in the wooden home.
Several people saw a man leave the residence before the fire was reported, according to police reports.
Alisna is scheduled to appear at 8:30 a.m. on March 12 in Circuit Court.
