Kaua‘i residents are invited to host small-group gatherings of their neighbors, congregation, sports team, civic clubs or friends as part of the statewide “Hawai‘i 2050 Sustainability Plan,” an effort launched by the Legislature in 2005.
The goal of the small-group discussions is to hear from as many people as possible from all walks of life about the Hawai‘i they would like to envision in 2050.
Community Meeting Toolkits are available for hosts to guide the meeting process and includes a questionnaire for participants. Island-wide responses will be tabulated and combined with those from around the state.
“Planning for the future of Hawai‘i needs to include everyone’s voice so the Legislature can create policies that reflect the broad range of needs and dreams within the state,” said Diane Zachary, Kaua‘i coordinator for Hawai‘i 2050, in a release.
If interested in hosting a meeting, contact Zachary at 632-2005 or e-mail dzachary@kauainetwork.org.
