Irineo S. Caletena
Irineo S. Caletena of Lihu‘e died Feb. 17, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 90.
Born June 16, 1916, in the Philippines, he was a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Leonora Caletena; daughters Lourdes (Ricardo) Castillo, Ardientes (Ernesto) Matias, Salvacion (Efren) Visaya, and Gloria (Eric) Koizumi; step daughters Marilee Flestado and Mailie Flestado; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Church cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Leonard Galvez Sr.
Leonard Timothy Galvez Sr. of Kapa‘a, died Feb. 19, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 59.
Born April 5, 1947, in Hawai‘i, he was an active National Guardsman and also a cook.
He is survived by daughters Cheri L. Galvez and Stacy D. Galvez; son Leonard T. Galvez Jr.; sisters Catherine Galvez, Victoria Toki and Adele Galvez; brothers Francis Galvez and Richard Galvez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, March 2, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa‘a, where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. A mahalo/aloha gathering for Leonard will be held March 3, at the Kapa‘a Lihi behind the Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission beginning at noon.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Jacinto Dela Cruz
Jacinto Malunao Dela Cruz of Kaumakani, died Feb. 17, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 87.
Born March 10, 1919, in the Philippines, he was a field hand.
He is survived by daughter Norma (Ben) Alayvilla; son Rodolfo (Encarning) Dela Cruz; grandchildren Helene (Brian) Yamamotoya, Allison (Paul) Matter, Ryan (Samantha) Alayvilla, Brenda (George) Alayvilla, Rosie (Deo) Flores and Betty (Larrie Acod) Dela Cruz; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Demetrio Lopez Agustin of Puhi died at his home on Feb. 20, 2007, at the age of 81.
Born Feb. 21, 1925, in Lihu‘e, he was a journeyman painter with Grove Farm Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Timoteo and Euphrasia Agustin, he is survived by his wife, Dorothea Suan Agustin; daughter Jo Ann (Alan) Ellis; son Dean (Candace) Agustin; grandchildren Alyssa Ellis, Lauren Agustin, and Dayna Agustin; brothers Tino (Deling) Agustin and Pat (Jo) Agustin; sister Rose (Matias) Arizo; numerous nieces and nephews.
