HONOLULU — “Legends of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar — Live From Maui” won this year’s Grammy award for Best Hawaiian Music Album.
Grammys were awarded to producers Daniel Ho, George Kahumoku Jr., Paul Konwiser and Wayne Wong for the multi-artist vocal and instrumental compilation.
The production team also took home last year’s Grammy in the category for the album “Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Vol. 1.”
The award was presented to the producers recently at a ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center before the Grammy Awards prime-time telecast.
Other albums nominated in the category included “Generation Hawai‘i,” Amy Hanaiali‘i; “Grandmaster Slack Key Guitar,” Ledward Kaapana; “The Wild Hawaiian,” Henry Kapono; “Hawaiian Slack Key Kings,” producers Chris Lau and Milton Lau.
