Bridge clubs release weekly results

Editor’s note: Bridge club results, usually reported on Monday, were held due to space.

Members of and visitors to the Poalua and North Shore Duplicate Bridge Club play every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m. This is the oldest bridge club on the island, and visitors are always welcome to play. To find a partner or for more information, call Jane Nearing Go at 826-9753 or Betty Moore at 245-1994.

Results for Thursday’s nine-table game are as follows (North/South): visitors Jim and Cheryl Bloom in first; Loukas Fytros and Janet Rauchut in second, and (East/West): Lenda Helser and Leslie Miskill in first; Jane Go and Betty Moore in second.

The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 9 a.m. The club welcomes visitors and part-time vacationers. For playing partners or information, call Barbara Adair at 826-5115.

Results for Thursday’s 20-player, five-table event are Glenda Lewis and Ilse Rothschild in first and Jane and Kent Oehm in second.

The ACBL-sanctioned Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 1 p.m. This long-established club conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. For playing partners or information, call Barbara Adair at 826-5115.

Results for Saturday’s 11- table, 44-player event are (North/South): Judy and Paul Ratte in first; Kay and Jerry Gable in second; Joe and Ann Williams and Hank Goldstein and Loring Harkness in a tie for third, and (East/West): Pam Orne and Myrna Walty in first; Pat Burgess and Martha Boswell in second; Ilse Rothschild and R.C. Smith and Dotty Nakea and Dick Shen in a tie for third.
