How does $50 for a government surplus military truck sound? Too good to be true?
Well, it probably is, but maybe not by much. Today an unspecified number of military trucks go up for auction on the Internet, and the bidding for each one starts at $50.
Government Liquidation holds an exclusive contract with the U.S. Department of Defense that sells thousands of government assets, of which 80 percent of the money goes back to the DOD, says Lauren Rosenberg, a California-based PR specialist.
The trucks, all located in Hawai‘i, are ideal for rugged duty in agriculture or construction, Rosenberg said.
Calling Government Liquidators the “daddy of all business incubators,” Rosenberg says the online auctions help countless small businesses get started with what would otherwise be unaffordable assets.
“We’re finding a growing population of beneficiaries developing from our site,” Tom Burton, GL president and COO, said in a release.
