Kaua‘i Dems. fill two slots

Linda Estes and Carl Wright were elected last month as interim chair and vice chair, respectively, by the executive committee of the Kaua‘i Democratic Party to fill vacated positions and lead the party until the county annual meeting in April.

Holdover officers include Secretary Ray Paler and Treasurer Loyd Clayton. Outgoing Chair Martin Rice submitted his resignation, citing health reasons, the party said through a prepared statement.

Michael Ceurvorst, chairman of Democrats Abroad who has family on the island, will travel to Washington, D.C. to interview prospective presidential candidates, along with delegations from the other 54 states and territories.
