Rain dampens Raider action

WAIPIO, O‘ahu — Kaua‘i gave up six runs to errors in a cold, windy and rainy Central O‘ahu Regional Park Thursday night.

Playing against the Pahoa Daggers, in the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association state tournament, the Raiders were chasing a run in the fourth inning with Sam Koga sitting at third, Nicole Larue getting first and Amanda Mayer in the batter’s box with two away.

Weather prevailed and the contest was rain delayed at press time with the score 7-6 in favor of the Daggers.

Should the Raiders succeed in getting past the Daggers, they move to the semi-finals that will be played at the University of Hawai‘i softball field.
