Pauli explodes for 26 points

Brandon Palacio scored 9 points to lead Kaulupono to a 35-17 win over the Kalaheo Heat inGame 1 of three boys 12 and under basketball games played Thursday night.

Helping Palacio, Chase Parongao and P.J. Oligo chipped in 6 and 4 points, respectively.

Tystin Gummerus led the Kalaheo effort with 7 points. Trey Aguano and Kelson Andrade each chipped in 3 points.

Dade Apao had 6 points to lead a balanced attack that saw five Lihu‘e Hammahs players finish with 5-point performances in its 34-22 win over Hanakila in Game 2.

Gabe Dias paced Hanakila with a game-high 11 points followed by Kawika Wellington and Ries Wetsel adding 4 and 3 points, respectively.

Duke Pauli lit up the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center with an all-night high 26 points to lead Team Central to a 64-35 win over Wailua in Game 3.

Following Pauli, Keane Agoot finished with 18 points and John Das added 8 points.

Lance Miyashiro dropped in 21 of Wailua’s 35-point total. He was followed by Treston Brede and Bryden Salvador adding 14 and 2 points, respectively.
