Atlanta Braves pitcher Tyler Yates will be the guest speaker for the Koloa Youth Baseball league’s opening ceremony at Koloa Ballpark Saturday.
The 1995 Kaua‘i High grad and former UH-Hilo pitcher has been on-island on vacation and decided to support youth baseball and to sign autographs.
Mayor Bryan Baptiste will also attend the ceremony.
The first game starts at 9 a.m., opening ceremonies start at 10:30 a.m. and two more games follow.
Saturday is also registration day for the 9- to 10-year-old boys and girls Mustang and Broncos divisions.
