Kryptonite tops mens’ soccer league

HANAPEPE — Goals by Keoni Nakano and Kyle Strickland and a stingy defense guaranteed Kryptonite the Kaua‘i Mens’ Soccer Association championship, blanking Hanalei 2-0.

AfterBurners battled Cane Fire to a 1-1 tie after two overtimes, but clinched third place after winning 5-4 on penalty kicks.

Each KMSA team received soccer balls for participating. The championship trophy was contributed by Eli Emory, the team manager for After Burners.

The 2007 Kaua‘i Mens’ Soccer Association opens its season next month.
