Raymond Tabuchi
Raymond Shoichi Tabuchi of Koloa died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 26, 2006, at the age of 94.
Born on Kaua‘i on Oct. 20, 1912, he worked in the offices of Grove Farm until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife Sadako Tabuchi of Koloa; sons David (Janet) Tabuchi and Raymond O. (Eileen) Tabuchi, both of California; sister Millie Kunimura; and four grandchildren.
Private services were held.

Joseph Banasihan
Joseph “Joe” Ling Banasihan of Kekaha died at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital on Dec. 29, 2006, at the age of 42.
Born in Waimea on July 1, 1964, he worked as a union carpenter on Kaua‘i.
He is survived by sons Kalama and Joey and daughter Destiny, all of Koloa; siblings Edward (Priscilla) Banasihan Sr. of Waimea, Sam (Bernie) Banasihan of Hanapepe, Pat Banasihan of Kekaha, Paul Banasihan of Kekaha, Richard (Rinda) Banasihan of Kalaheo, Annette (Billy) Maranian of Las Vegas and Leonard (Glenda) Banasihan of Hanama‘ulu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation at 8:30 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Lorraine Gaylord
Lorraine Velasquez Gaylord of Wailua died at home on Dec. 30, 2006, at the age of 76.
Born in Manila, Philippines, on Sept. 9, 1930, she worked for the Arkansas State Revenue and lived in North Little Rock, Ark., prior to her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents Dominador Velasquez and Maria Salonga; brother Roberto Velasquez; and sister Remy Gabriel.
She is survived by her daughter Lois (Eric) Lutz of Wailua; sisters Adoracion Velasquez and Susing (Henry) Ty; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of the Philippines.
A Mass will be said in her honor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of North Little Rock, Ark., at 9 a.m. today.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Kapa‘a. Mass officiated by Father Edgar will begin at 4 p.m.
Her ashes will be flown to the Philippines for burial.

Masako Hiranaka
Masako Hiranaka of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 8, 2007, at the age of 85.
She was born in Lihu‘e on Jan. 11, 1921, and retired as a cook with Coco Palms Hotel.
She is survived by three sons, Harvey (Yong) Hiranaka, Milton (Anna) Hiranaka and Jefferey (Lorelle) Hiranaka, all of Kaua‘i; brother Sueo (Leatrice) Fujii of Honolulu; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shigeshi and son Roy.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, at Kauai Memorial Gardens, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. by Rev. Kosho Yagi.

Mercy Ignacio
Mercy Ignacio of Kekaha died Jan. 11, 2006, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, at the age of 82.
Born Aug. 14, 1924, in Hawai‘i, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughter Jolene (John) Gentry of Honoka‘a; three sons, Xavier (Janice) Ignacio of Hanapepe, Vance Ignacio of Kekaha and Landis (Lisa) Ignacio of Kekaha; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha, where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church cemetery in Koloa.
Casual attire is suggested.

Misao Yasutake
Misao Eva Yasutake of Wailua Homesteads died at home on Jan. 8, 2007, at the age of 89.
Born in Hanalei on March 15, 1917, she was a farmer, store owner and housewife.
She is survived by her husband Atsushi; three sons, Donald (Annette) Yasutake, Kenneth (Sylvia) Yasutake and Leslie (Carol) Yasutake; daughter Elaine (Roy) Morita; nine grandchildren, Jamie Yasutake, Jon (Jeanne) Yasutake, Cindy (Mingo) Lee, Dean (Kimberly) Yasutake, Cheryl Morita, Ken Morita, Yumi (Tammy) Yasutake, Lachelle Yasutake and Kobi Yasutake; four great-grandchildren; brother Henry (Elizabeth) Azeka; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel.
The service officiated by the Rev. Fujimori will begin at 4 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.

Mabel Keike Badua of Lihu‘e died at home on Jan. 12, 2007.
Preceded in death by her son Milton Julian, she is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bill Badua; two sons, William Val (Debra) Badua of Hanapepe and Leonard Kei Badua of Guam; two daughters, Stella B. (Aaron) Hookano of Honolulu and Michelle B. San Nicolas (Robert Manibusan) of Guam; and seven grandsons, three granddaughters, one hanai granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel on Jan. 18, 2007, with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and service at 10 a.m.

Kimie Yokotake Ishihara of Waimea died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Jan. 9, 2007, at the age of 86.
Born in Kekaha on Sept. 14, 1920, she was a proprietor of Ishihara Market.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Ishihara and Guy (Shawn) Ishihara, both of Waimea; daughter Grace (Gary) Kitabayashi of Waimea; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Fujito (Midori) Yokotake, Matsuki (Aki) Yokotake, Takeshi Yokotake, Mutsuo Yokotake, Ronald Yokotake and Floyd (Jeannie) Yokotake; and two sisters, Toshiko (John) Braga and Mary Yokotake.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Waimea United Church of Christ; service officiated by Rev. Olaf Hoeckmann Percival will begin at 4 p.m.

Peren Villanueva Sr.
Peren Pascua Villanueva Sr. of Kilauea died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan 10, 2007, at the age of 86.
Born in San Manuel, Panagasinan, Philippines on May 19, 1920, he worked for Kilauea Sugar Plantation, as a plant operator, and Kauai Nursery before retiring as a manager at the Princeville Corporation Sewer Plant.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Felisa Castelo Villanueva; son Peren (Christa) Villanueva of New York; brothers William (Lolita) Villanueva of Kilauea and Feladis (Ann) Villanueva of Kapa‘a; seven grandchildren, Dana, Alex, Cory, Liza, Adam, Lucy and Maya, all of New York; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alberto and Hiraldo.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, at St. Sylvester Church in Kilauea with visitation with the family at 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. officiated by Fr. Edgar Villanueva.
Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sylvester’s Church.

Carolyn Dela Cruz
Carolyn Bisarra Dela Cruz of Lihu‘e died at Straub Hospital on Jan. 3, 2007, at the age of 34.
Born in Waimea on Aug. 25, 1972, she was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.
She is survived by her husband Jim; two daughters, Jasmine and Jaimelynn, both of Lihu‘e; parents Samuel and Emilia Bisarra; brother Clifford Bisarra of Honolulu; and sister Eva Owsley of Atlanta, Ga.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel.
Visitation also from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Lihue United Church; service officiated by Pastor Wesley Elmore will begin at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Kalapaki Bay Memorial Park Cemetery.
