Bridge club wrap-up

Members of the North Shore and Poalua Duplicate Bridge Clubs meet every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e at 9 a.m. This is the oldest bridge club on the island and visitors are always welcome to play. Results for the four-table Howell movement game last Thursday were: Evelyn Laureta and Asa Shibata in first; Sheila Honeywell and Francine Donahue in second; Lil Riley and Debbie Byrnes.

The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 9 a.m. The club welcomes visitors and part-time vacationers. For playing partners or information, call Lolita Horney at 826-6805.

Results for Thursday’s three-table, 12-player event were: Steve Angelone and Ilse Rothschild in first; and Sarah Schmanski and Susan Worth in second.

The Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club, soon to be sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League, plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 1 p.m. This long-established club conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players. Results for the Saturday’s six-table, 24-player event were: Dileep and Vijay Bal in first; and Francine Donahue and Steve Angelone in second.
