KAPA‘A — In one of the most exciting games of the day, Kulia Lanakila earned the championship in the Under 14 division with a 3-2 win over GIFC-Po‘okela at the Kapa‘a Beach Park Sunday.
The Kaua‘i Soccer Association Seven-a-Side league closed off its fall season with six championship games spread between Wailua Houselots Park and Kapa‘a Beach Park.
The Ha‘aheo Teeny Wahine laid claim to the Under 8 title by shutting down the Ha‘aheo Boys 5-0 in the day’s opener at Wailua.
KSC-Blazing Angels pulled together to advance into the finals, but fell to the Lihu‘e Heat 5-0 to give the U10 championship to the orange shirts.
The Lihu‘e Cougars came out strong from the onset to clinch a 3-1 win over the pink-shirted Ha‘aheo and take home the Under 12 championship plaque.
Motiv-8 started the action in Kapa‘a with a 3-0 showing over Westside United to win the Boys Under 14 trophy. In the final bracket, the orange-and-white GIFC-East completed its winning season with a 10-6 showing over the Eastside Girls.
