On Saturday, the Sharks swam over the Dragons 11-4 and despite a strong comeback in the second half by the Dragons, the Sharks prevailed 11-8 in the Sunday afternoon contest.
Tyler and Natalie Lewis paced the Sharks’ Saturday victory in the Squirt division with three goals apiece, followed by Leech-Kritchman and Gavin Bryan netting two scores each. Chanel Tremblay rounded out the scoring with a goal. Leech-Kritchman also added an assist.
On Sunday, Leech-Kritchman caught fire, finishing with seven goals. Bryan and Tremblay each added a pair of scores in the win.
Troy Spears and Robin Bihm did the scoring honors for the Dragons with two goals apiece Saturday. On Sunday, Edward Punua Jr. paced the Dragons with four goals and an assist followed by Marissa Aceret netting a pair of goals. Bihm followed with a goal and an assist with Shannon Sitzler rounding out the effort.
Sierra Mayer paced the Piranhas with three goals and an assist in a 7-6 win over the Devils in the Bantam division Saturday. Sister Cascade added a pair and Jacob Lewis and Cole Pemberton each netted a goal. Zack Lewis, Kaysie Ota and Kalia Yee helped the win with assists. Goalkeeper Derek Gillette had 31 saves on 38 shots.
Mathias Davis and Kawai Peahu led the Devils with two goals and an assist each. Jean-Luc Tremblay and Matt Heller each netted one in the effort. Cydney Sitzler finished with two assists. Goalkeeper Kiana Tremlay was 36 saves on 41 shots.
The Piranhas completed a weekend sweep with a 6-4 showing over the Grasshoppers Sunday with Cascade Mayer, Jacob Lewis and Peahu leading the victory charge with two goals apiece. Ota had an assist in the win that saw Tremblay dominate again, saving 37 of 41 shots.
Matt Heller led the Grasshoppers with two goals, followed by Kawaiiki Punua and Kirsten McCracken each netting one. Goalkeeper Greg Balmores had 31 saves on 37 shot attempts.
Tyson Wakayama, Andy Siegal and Brian Bodine each scored two goals to pace Green (Tyson) to a 7-4 edge over Red (Johnnie) in the sole Open game played Saturday night.
David Skinner iced the Green win with a goal, and Ray Berg had three assists. Goalkeeper Todd Mayer had 41 saves on 45 shots.
Bryan McCracken led the Red effort with two goals and an assist, followed by Jay Anderson racking up a goal and two assists. Stephen Mongiello finished with a goal and an assist and Ikaika Fuerte added an assist.
Goalkeeper Jamie Pablo had 43 saves on 50 shots.
KIHA scorekeeper Penni Taketa said this week’s games will move to Friday night and Sunday due to the end of the KIF football schedule.
First games on Friday start at 5 p.m. Sunday games start at 2 p.m.
