Coach Bobby Rapozo knew two of her three soccer teams were seeded No. 1 following Sunday’s end to the season.
Ha‘aheo, a Girls Under 12 team, and Ha‘aheo Teenie Wahine, a Girls Under 8 team, both suffered losses, but based on standings points, were awarded No. 1 seed positions going into Sunday’s playoffs for the Kaua‘i Soccer Association 7×7 league.
Ha‘aheo Boys, a Boys Under 8 team, got past Ha‘aheo Teenie Wahine 3-1 to complete its two-game sweep. This gave them a 7-3-0 record for 21 points and the No. 2 seed.
Davin Garma finished with a hat trick and Kody Gardner added a goal for the Ha‘aheo Boys in their 4-0 win over the Kapa‘a Blaze.
Ha‘aheo suffered a 1-0 loss to the Lihu‘e Cougars when Corey Nemeth was able to snake a goal past the Ha‘aheo goalie who performed admirably against a controlling Burgundy tide.
In the Under 10 division, Tunda was 5-3 better than the KSC-Blazing Angels for the top seed in that division. They play a rematch Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.
Hawaiian Heat and Lihu‘e Heat battled to a 0-0 stalemate. They meet again in the playoffs to break the deadlock starting at 12:40 p.m.
Motiv-8, a Boys Under 14 team, earned the top seed for the U14 division with a 7-0 win over Kapa‘a Blaze. Motiv-8 travels to the Kapa‘a Beach Park for the second of two playoff games when they play a rematch against fourth-seeded Kapa‘a Blaze.
The first contest at the Kapa’a Beach Park pits the third seed Lihu’e Cougars against second-seeded Westside United at 11:30 a.m.
