The Kaua‘i High Red Raiders JV capped its undefeated season Friday night by running over the Waimea Menehune 41-0 on its way to capturing the KIF district title.
Raiders quarterback Trent Allianic led the charge for Kaua‘i High with three touchdowns, two passing and one running.
Already up 20-0 at the half, the Red Raider offense showed no mercy, slicing through the Menehune defense with a 21-yard Allianic touchdown run, a 41-yard sprint for a score by running back Gage Gusman and a 21-yard pass from backup QB Bradson Hiranaka to wide-out Sheldon Sakai, who tipped the ball to himself, spun past a defender and finally caught the ball just inside the end zone for a miraculous touchdown.
As usual, Kalapaki Ellis did his part on the defensive side of the ball for Kaua‘i High, snagging an interception and recovering a fumble that setup a third-quarter touchdown.
