Bridge results released

Members of the North Shore and Poalua Bridge Clubs meet every Thursday at Sun Village behind Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e at 9 a.m.

This is the oldest bridge club on the island and visitors are always welcome to play.

Many snowbirds have returned and the Oct. 19 game was a 28 player Mitchell Movement game. North South winners were: First place tie, Jim and Coleen Lawshe with Al and Evie Davis; Second was Jane Nearing Go and Betty Moore.

East West winners were: First place, Al Ficker and Marty Halfhill. Second place went to Patty Ficker and Louise Halfhill.

The Sunrise Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Thursday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 9 a.m.

The club welcomes visitors and part-time vacationers. For playing partners or information, call Lolita Horney at 826-6805.

The first place pair in the Sunrise bridge game on Oct. 19 was Glenda Lewis and Ilse Rothschild. The second plave pair was Hank Goldstein and Barbara Adair.

The Sunset Duplicate Bridge Club plays each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific Hall in Princeville at 1 p.m. This long-established club conducts friendly and competitive play for all island players.

Results for Oct. 21’s five-table event with 20 players were: First, Gail and Rob Van Ekeren; second, Shirley Holzer and Lolita Horney.

Results for Saturday’s 22- player, six-table event were: first, Gail and Rob Van Ekeren; and second, Hank Goldstein and Loring Harkness.
