County officials released the names of those injured in Thursday morning’s two-car crash on Kuhio Highway near Wailapa Road.
Frank Zamora, 39, of Riverside, Calif., and his 12-year-old son are in fair condition at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, county spokesperson Mary Daubert said.
Kaua‘i resident Annella Perreira, 51, is in stable condition at Wilcox.
Mark Serrato, 20, of Kapa‘a, was flown to Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu Thursday and listed in critical condition. The hospital would not release information on his condition yesterday.
Serrato was driving a 1989 Oldsmobile station wagon that apparently crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Dodge van carrying a family of six from California. Perreira was a passenger in the station wagon.
Serrato and Zamora, the two drivers, were cut out of their cars after each was pinned under the steering column and dashboard.
The four other passengers in the van were treated and released from Wilcox Thursday.
Police officials said Thursday that speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. Daubert said yesterday the investigation is ongoing.
