One of the highlights of the Children and Youth Month is the 5th Annual Kaua‘i Keiki Story Festival Oct. 28 at the Storybook Theater in Hanapepe.
Kaua‘i Mayor Bryan Baptiste issued a proclamation to some of the key figures involved with the festival, declaring October Children and Youth Month.
“We thought we’d get a head start on things,” said Janice Bond of Read to Me International, one of the sponsors of the festival. Bond also served on the 2005 festival committee.
The proclamation states: The children of Hawai‘i are a constant source of inspiration, enriching our lives with their enthusiasm for life and capacity for personal growth.
