This was Orange Coast’s second win of the season after getting past Santa Barbara 39-7 on Sept. 2.
In his second year for the Coast, Crowell hit Damola Adeniji on connections of 14, 26 and 10 yards for touchdowns.
The quarterback was 10-for-21 with no interceptions in the win, racking up 86 yards and three scores.
Against Santa Barbara, Crowell had a 10-yard rushing TD in addition to completing 10 passes on 24 attempts for 86 yards.
The Coast will go up against Palomar Saturday.
BYUH Peters named PacWest Player of Week
LAIE, O‘ahu — Michelle (Tuli) Peters, Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i’s junior outside hitter, was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week for women’s volleyball.
This was Peters’second time named to the honor this season. Peters, a Kahuku High School graduate, led the Seasiders to a pair of victories this week over Hawai‘i Pacific University and Chaminade to put BYUH in early command of the conference race.
Peters averaged 6.83 kills per game of the week and 3.83 digs per contest. She hit for a .297 kill percentage for the week as BYUH swept both matches in straight games. She pounded 17 kills and came up with 15 digs against Hawai‘i Pacific last Tuesday and came back Saturday with 24 kills and a .358 hitting percentage against Chaminade.
For the season, Peters is averaging 6.56 kills per game and hitting .317 for the 10th ranked and undefeated Seasiders.
Peters was the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association’s Player of the Year in 2003 and played two years for Fresno State of the Western Athletic Conference before returning home to play for BYUH.
Brazilians trying hard
Drew Metcalf put the Lihu‘e Brazilians in the scorebooks for the first time in two outings.
Metcalf notched the goal in their effort against the Waimea A in the Brazilians’ 6-1 loss in an Under 14 matchup in Waimea.
Kai Gusman, Wyatt Chicoine and Mickey Yamane racked up goals for Waimea in that win.
Earlier, the Brazilians were on the losing end of a 2-0 match against the Kalaheo Sugar Cubes played at the Kalawai Field.
Kainoa French and Kaleo Tin scored for Kalaheo in that game.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the KIF volleyball game results will appear in the Friday issue of the The Garden Island.
This will be the results of Kaua‘i High School’s first season meeting with the defending KIF champion Kapa‘a High School.
