Got to run into Alan Faye who plugged the sailing canoe race today from Kalapaki Beach to the shores of the Waimea Plantation Cottages … if there’s a south swell, it should be an exciting landing and the hot dogs are always good in Waimea!
Anna Sloggett is starting to get excited … Jane Nearing Go and the people at the North Shore Bridge Club got an early jump on Anna’s birthday celebration (Sept. 17 at Gaylord’s!) with some cake and goodies … Jane said the birthday banner was from Anna’s 97th birthday, but she couldn’t find any more of the same material for the rest of the banner, and the gorgeous plumeria lei came from Don Jimenez of the Princeville Spa via Jane.
Coaches Tony Magaoay and Chad Delanoza are making sure we’re going to have a doozy of a KIF volleyball season, and Jon Kobayashi and his staff were great hosts for the season opener Wednesday … Ms. Joyce Evens even had rosters to work with; Red Raider coaches Lorna Basquez and Rich Roberts had their video cameras going in preparation for tonight’s matches. But the season is young so don’t count any one out … yet.
OK, time to check out Edee Bandman and the Aloha Festivals parade! It starts at 10 a.m.
