Justin Brink, 27, of Kapa‘a died May 30, 2006, from injuries sustained in a car accident in Kapa‘a at the age of 27.
Born Nov. 16, 1978, in Novato, Calif., he lived in California and New Mexico, but spent most of his childhood in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to Kaua‘i with his cousins at the age of 24. A carpenter by trade, he was planning to move to the Big Island on June 1 to work with friends and attend the University of Hawaii at Hilo. He enjoyed hiking, surfing, scuba diving, reading, drawing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Justin Brink is survived by his parents, Joanie and David Dudley, of Des Moines, Iowa and Bruce and Roberta Brink of Panora, Iowa; brothers Corey Brink and Ryan Lester of Des Moines, Iowa, Andy (Dani) Meyer of Orient, Iowa, and Tony (Ashley) Meyer of Stuart, Iowa; grandparents, Richard and Evelyn Lester of Des Moines, Iowa, Norman and Sandy Dudley of Des Moines, Iowa; niece Haylee Meyer and nephew Damion Meyer, both of Orient, Iowa; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rex and Vinnie Brink; maternal step-grandparents, Bob and Marj Jensen; aunt, Joyce Lester, and cousin, Austin Gilliland.
Services will be held Wednesday at Salt Pond Beach Park at 6 p.m. and in his home state of Iowa at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
