Top golfers honored

They’ve got serious game.

Kaua‘i’s Miki Ueoka and Chad Nonaka are lethal on the course. The dynamic duo leads the list of KIF golf all-stars released earlier this week.

Ueoka took home a bronze medal at the state golf championships, carding the top final round of the day.

The junior also grabbed KIF medalist honors and is in the running for a spot in the upcoming U.S. Women’s Open.

Nonaka took KIF medalist honors and finished one shot out of medal contention at states, but he was able to lead the Red Raiders to a third-place finish.

Other KIF golf all-stars are Kaua‘i’s Mike Garcia, Kellen Watabu, Nikko Tacsiat, Wiley Yoshioka, Cory Oride, Kula’s Cyrus Ogawa and Kapa‘a’s Jet Levinthol.

Kaua‘i’s Rae-Lyn Morikawa, Kristi Rapozo, Angel Miyake, Kapa‘a’s Malia Saiki, Cheyene Barretto and Waimea’s Leslyn Ibara headed up the girls’ all-star list.

Kaua‘i took both KIF titles this season.

KIF golf all-stars were selected based upon performance at the KIF championships.
