HONOLULU — Gov. Linda Lingle will join retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Matthew P. Caulfield, executive director of the national Helmets to Hardhats program, in a proclamation signing Tuesday on board the U.S.S. Missouri at Ford Island in Pearl Harbor, states releases from both Lingle’s office and Helmets to Hardhats.
The noon signing signifies the governor’s support of the program’s efforts to link former and active military personnel with civilian employment opportunities.
U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka and state Department of Labor director Nelson Befitel are among the dignitaries scheduled to appear.
