Hats off to Angela Vento and all her committee for doing such a great job with the Visitor Industry Charity Walk. Ron Wiley and Dickie Chang were all over that event (one day I’ll figure out how to do it, too), and Marty Amaro sold out of 25 gallons of Kaua‘i Coffee!
Jolene Ogle was doubling as photographer before heading down the hill where she helped out at the installation of the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Preschool playground (they got some help from the Charity Walk!), and John Iwamoto and the Boy Scouts went the other way to learn about chainsaw safety at Ed Kawamura’s farm expo.
Cathy Agoot was getting ready to find out who won the Kaua‘i Great Weigh Out as was Theresa Koki, and Kellie Pleas had her whole team walking.
Jeff Venzon was walking, but getting ready for the finals of their boys basketball league, and hats off to Joe Fontanilla on the Las Vegas trip … see what you can win just by walking?
Hats off, too, to Kaua‘i Soccer Association leaders Kevin Devitt, Karl Ubongen, Kevin Gusman, and coach Gwen Tamura on another great season!
Coach Galen Kawakami came out for the finals as did coach Dan Agan who got to see some great soccer. Coach Glenn Morita had shave ice duty (Jesse Fukushima had his chance at the Friendship House Fun Fair Friday night) across the road.
