The Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s racing season continues with the annual around the island race Memorial Day weekend. The first leg of the race from Nawiliwili Harbor to Hanalei Bay on Saturday, May 27 is also part of the on-going offshore
The Nawiliwili Yacht Club’s racing season continues with the annual around the island race Memorial Day weekend. The first leg of the race from Nawiliwili Harbor to Hanalei Bay on Saturday, May 27 is also part of the on-going offshore race series. Sailors are invited to participate in all three race segments or simply in the one day race to Hanalei.
The public is invited to view Saturday’s start from the harbor jetty at 9 a.m., as well as to attend the arrival party at the Hanalei Pavilion starting at 3 p.m.. Bring a potluck dish to share and your own grill food for the coals. NYC hot dogs and beverages will be available for a small donation.
Sunday’s second leg of the around the island race is from Hanalei to Port Allen. Boats will self start at 8 a.m. Leg three is from Port Allen to Nawiliwili Harbor on Monday the 29th. Boats will self start at 9 a.m.
The Junior Invitational Series begins on Thursday, June 8th running four consecutive Thursdays. First flag will be at 5 p.m. A junior aged 14 to 21 must be on board in order for the boat’s score to be included in the final series tally.
