The Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall will be transformed from its empty stage to the setting of the classic fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel” this weekend for the Kauai Dance Theater’s 20th annual spring concert.
The show opens tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the convention hall. Sunday’s show will start at 4 p.m.
Based on the classic fairy tale, the principal role of Hansel will be played by Kaua‘i High School junior Kailie Shiba. Gretel will be played by Ashley Igaya.
Other soloists include Jayna McClaran as the Dark Fairy and Jeianna DeCosta-Mararagan as the Sapphire Fairy.
Tickets for the show are $9 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens and available from any of the Kauai Dance Theatre students or at the door.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club and Kauai Dance Theatre scholarship program.
