Arroyo is a company commander with 21 years of military service. He is the son of Calvin H. Arroyo Sr. of Nakini St., Waimanalo, O‘ahu, and Patricia A. Lopes of Lawa‘i.
His wife, Suzie, is the daughter of Harry and Huicha Kim of Ala Ilima St., Honolulu.
The captain graduated in 1981 from Waimea High School and received an associate degree in 1992 from the University of Hawai‘i, Honolulu. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from Wayland Baptist University through the military extension program in Aiea, Hawai‘i.
