Captain Mark Darrah was able to take care of Kaua‘i’s youth, and still had time to enjoy a nice Mother’s Day dinner as he spent time working one-on-one with Mark Kanahele at the Kukuiolono Golf Course (Marina Octavio was enjoying her Mother’s Day by not working).
Hats off to Glenn Kagawa and Richard Kuga who spearheaded the West Kaua‘i Youth Golf Club’s efforts over the past year as club members celebrated their first anniversary playing golf Sunday.
Shan Mundon and Tammy Pu‘u were trying to get their steeds to cooperate on Mother’s Day at the KAGRA rodeo. Rosie Bukoski had her special mushroom chicken on the menu, and Linda Antipala was enjoying brisk sales of KAGRA logowear from all the visitors who flocked to the event … YMCA of Kaua‘i’s Tom Tannery didn’t have to do the yard so was on hand to check out Wendy’s first place run in the 3D Barrels.
Meanwhile, Paul Yamaguchi (Masa Arita said he was the chef), Ted Inouye, Ricky Tokunaga, Legs Hamamoto (how long has he been greeting at the Mother’s Day breakfast?) had busy weekends as they spent Saturday helping pour cement for the Lihu‘e Hongwanji Preschool playground, and then went ahead to prepare breakfast for the Annual Mother’s Day event Sunday.
Kaupena Kinimaka was working hard at the pour as were Danny Alayvilla, Craig Kawakami, David Amorin, and Janice Ringor single-handedly prepared food for the whole crew!
